Who are Finney Pharmacy?

Finney Pharmacy is a local independent distance selling pharmacy that provides NHS prescription free delivery service and other health care services. It is located in Grangetown, Ryhope Road, Sunderland SR2 9QE.

As a local independent distance selling pharmacy, we do not accept prescriptions by face-to-face, so walk in scripts will not be allowed, however, we have provided a special secured prescription box attached at our pharmacy for you to drop off your prescription and we will deliver it to your door at the earliest possible delivery.

Finney Pharmacy is supervised by fully qualified pharmacists who are available to discuss your medical issues and problems in a confidential environment through telephone or a face-to-face consultation by booking an appointment.

Our pharmacists are professionally registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), which is the Regulatory Body for Pharmacy in Great Britain. The premises are fully approved and regulated by UK Government Bodies. We fully adhere to the high standards as set by the GPhC and are also a member of the National Pharmacy Association (NPA). Our pharmacists follow Standard Operating Procedures and use their professional judgement to check the suitability of a medicine for a particular patient and ensure its safe delivery. Finney Pharmacy works hard to provide its customers with the best possible care, ensuring that we are always there for you!

Finney Pharmacy offers free Repeat Prescription Service (Prescription Collection & Delivery) to our local customers. We offer this service for patients registered with GP Surgeries across Sunderland. Joseph Arul Finney Abraham MPharm, MRPharmS, MAPCPharm first qualified as a pharmacist at Christian Medical College, Vellore, South India. He started his profession at The Salvation Army Catherine Booth Hospital, Nagercoil South India with 30 years of experience spanning across hospitals from South India then to Dubai-Muscat and finally settled in Sunderland UK. His experience started as a hospital pharmacist then community pharmacist has resulted in significant increase in his knowledge which is applied through his practice.

He has started his own business as a local independent distance selling pharmacy – Finney Pharmacy and he would be thrilled to provide competitive services to the utmost satisfaction of patient care which is his centred approach. He firmly believes that to serve the community requires a constant commitment and professional attitude towards its healthcare needs. He was also a former member at the Sunderland Symphony Youth Orchestra where he played French horn, he also led the Sunderland Indian Children Ecumenical Gospel Choir from 2005-2010 and is a member at Millfield Salvation Army Church who also attend St. Aidan’s Church at Grange town Ryhope, Sunderland.
